Bug #809582
openCombat Rounds info/display issues
0%
Description
Combat Rounds are an excellent way to tune realism into certain unit types and battle scenarios and are an extremely important part of Freeciv's future -- congratulations for implementing this.
I have run some tests and found some issues, version info below:
This is Freeciv version 3.0.91-dev-msys2 (modified 25c14374c9), gui-gtk-3.22 client.
Built against gtk+ 3.24.5, using 3.24.5
Built against glib 2.58.3, using 2.58.3
Here are the issues:
1. In both GTK and FreeCiv-Web client testing, a battle that does not result in a death will not visually update the display for the hit points of the units who were in combat. saving and reloading in gtk, or browser refresh in FCW, fixes the problem but neither are really acceptable workarounds for players to have to do.
2. It would be very useful if non-victorious combat completed with a message such as "Combat finished without a victor: Your "Unit.name" lost x hit points. "Unit.name" (Nation) lost b hit points. This would make bug #1 much less annoying (but both deserve to be fixed.)
