Tariff usage¶

Current¶

• Membership only starts on 1st of a month and ends on last day of that month
• Membership is autoextended till member is put on guest tarif

Proposed¶

• Membership may start on any date. It will end only on last day of that month
• In case membership does not start on day 1, prorata charges are applied
• While creating new membership if no "end date" is provided, is autoextended every beginning of every month till host decides to stop the membership.
• Stopping a membership is editing the membership and specifying end date. Membership will be scheduled to stop on this date.

Guest tariff¶

• Any usage by a member who is not on usual tariffs would be charged according to Guest tariff.

Member¶

Current use case¶

Active

Host marks a member not active when the member is no longer on some tariff but still associated with the Hub. Active flag is confusing for many hosts and they use it as per their interpretation. Hubspace software excludes inactive member from search by other members (except hosts of member's homehub) and also excludes in other processes such as invoicing search.There is not much point in carrying this concept forward. A member who is not on tariff of a Hub will be excluded in default search. In case Hub still wants such a member in search host may put such a member on guest tariff.

Home Hub

Hubspace has homehub concept where a member is attached one of hubs and software treats that hub as homehub of that member where in some cases granting special priviledges to hosts of the hub on that member.

Proposed¶

We think that homehub and active no longer required. One member may have memberships of multiple hubs. Members sometime switch hub memberships so if earlier hub sets member 'not active' other one soon needs to activate. Also this process currently needs developer intervention. A member is simply on one of the tariffs of a hub or not.

Tax calculation¶

• Support for more than one level of taxes (new feature)
• There would default Tax level(s) per location which can be optionally overridden by location tax levels.
