Organization¶

Motivation¶

• Many times an organization makes payments for it's members. So such members set their billing to organization. Also some hubs offer organization memberships http://www.hubmelbourne.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Membership-Pricing-Table-150911.pdf
• Hubs apart from sending invoices also receives invoices from foundation and also possibly from hub members for their services. Hub in turn is should have an organization billing profile. Lack of it leads to serious issues eg. https://trac.the-hub.net/space/ticket/1130
• Currently in Hubspace this is acheived by creating a new member representing organization which is not exactly a clean solution from developer's perspective.

Implementation¶

• New Organization entity may have members who can divert their bills to this Organization's billing profile.
• Some of the members could have admin role for Organization so that member can setup billing wthout need to involve host of that Hub.
• Organization would be included in member search based on organization member's memberships. It would also mean that Hubs would also be included in certain searches where search scope include members outside the Hub.

Future¶

• Metadata provided by members for organization can be used to generate member and organization web pages. Although this is currently not needed given that The Hub is going to use National field.
